Overly Content Clients

There is a – rare – breed of client: Those that are always content with the work you deliver, never voice any concerns, are always nice, positive and agree to each and every of your suggestions. They are doing this either because (A) they are in fact happy with your work, or because (B) they have never had the chance, or the time, or the motivation to question the project, or your output, and are just playing along to get it over and done with.

In situation A, you both are smack in the middle of your flow-y comfort zones, and all is well. In situation B, both of you are sitting on a volcano that’s ready to erupt at any given moment.

In both, you need to voice your concerns by asking your client to help both of you decide which of the two situations is closer to reality.
