How do you make a carpenter go crazy? Give him a dull chisel:
“Emails would take hours, and sometimes days, to be delivered through the Notes servers,” said former Digitas CEO and current Weather CEO David Kenny. “It became common practice to text people to have them watch for and confirm sent emails. The redundancy drove me crazy.”
Great tools do not make great people; but great people become even better with the right tools. Give your teams what they need – not what you think they need – and encourage them to refine their own tools on company time. And when your craftspeople start sharing their findings with others – within the company or outside –, you know you’re on the right track.
