MAULCO.

A Maze of Twisty Little Passages, …

… all alike. For everyone who ever played Colossal Cave Adventure or one of its later incarnations like Zork, this sentence will ring a bell.

In this maze, the player finds himself navigating through a series of rooms connected to each other in such a way that going north from A to B does not mean going south from B will land you in A. Also, all rooms bear the same description. Getting lost is not an option here: It’s expected; it’s the norm.

You wouldn’t be playing the game well if you didn’t get lost on your first, second and maybe tenth attempt. Getting lost over and over again leaves traces in your memory that build up to a body of experience and knowledge sufficient to master the maze.
